Bruce has been practicing law over three decades. For years Bruce has been recognized as one of Idaho’s preeminent attorneys representing health care professionals. Mr. McAllister’s litigation practice has involved actions throughout the State of Idaho in both state and federal courts. He also has handled appeals before the Idaho appellate courts and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. McAllister speaks to local and state groups on legal issues affecting dentists, physicians and other health care providers. Mr. McAllister also has taught continuing legal education seminars for attorneys on issues within his practice, including insurance bad faith litigation.
Bruce received both his undergraduate and law school education from the University of Minnesota. After graduating from law school, Bruce moved to Idaho. He was in private practice in Boise, served as a law clerk for the Honorable Dennis E. Goff of the Third Judicial District, and also as a deputy county prosecuting attorney. Mr. McAllister joined Quane, Smith, Howard & Hull In 1984. In 1998, Bruce was one of the partners who started Carey Perkins LLP, the predecessor to Perkins, Mitchell, Pope & McAllister LLP. Mr. McAllister’s litigation practice focuses on representation of dentists, physicians, counselors and other health care professionals. Mr. McAllister also has significant litigation experience in the defense of accountants, product liability, toxic torts, governmental liability, administrative law, and insurance. He also is versed in agency proceedings and alternative dispute resolution.
Mr. McAllister has substantial expertise in analyzing medical records, having reviewed 100,000’s of pages of such records throughout his career. Many of these reviews pertain to Issues of traumatic and psychological Injury. As a result of such reviews, Mr. McAllister has developed expertise at gauging the admissibility, the weight and the credibility of medical opinion and the records upon which they are based—both within and outside the workplace.
Mr. McAllister is a member of the Idaho bar and of state local bar associations. Mr. McAllister is “AV” Peer Review rated by Martindale Hubbell. Bruce also is frequently designated as a Mountain States SuperLawyer. In addition, he was recently recognized by his peers to be featured in the 25th Edition of the Best Lawyers in America.
